Mylopotamos Castle

The Castle of Mylopotamos, a great monument, abandoned in time and unknown to most, is located just above the settlement of Kastri, of the Local Community of Agios Mamados.It dates from the first period of the Venetian rule and is one of the most important centers of that period, also known the "Acropolis" of Mylopotamos. Due to its strategic location, it was the residence and stronghold of the Kallergi family in the 13th century.
