Panagia Harakiani

Panagia Harakiani is one of the main pilgrimages in the prefecture of Rethymno. Its construction dates back to the period of the Venetian rule in Crete, while inside it there are modern hagiographies that cover all the walls of the church, with most of the figures of the saints represented being from Crete, most of them contemporary martyrs. In the valley south of the temple, there is an impressively large rock, the rock of Harakas, where, according to legend, the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary was discovered.
